A: It all comes down to the yarn structure. Standard fabrics use solid yarns that allow heat to escape. Our Polyester Cotton Thermal Fabric uses hollow yarns that trap "dead air" inside the fiber. Still air is one of the best natural insulators available. This means you get the same thermal protection as a much thicker, 300 GSM traditional fleece, but in a lighter, more breathable package.
Q2: Will the cotton content cause the fabric to shrink or lose its shape in the wash?
A: Shrinkage is not a concern here. The 57% polyester acts as a stable "skeleton" for the fabric, holding the cotton fibers in place. Additionally, the 7% spandex is heat-set during our finishing process. This combination ensures the fabric has excellent dimensional stability, with less than 3% shrinkage under normal washing conditions.
Q3: Is the "Hollow" feature a chemical coating that will eventually wash off?
A: Not at all. The hollow core is a physical characteristic of the polyester fiber itself, created during the extrusion process. It is a permanent structural feature of the yarn. It won't wash out, wear off, or lose its insulating ability, regardless of how many times the garment is laundered.
